Fathala Wildpark in Senegal

During this trip you go 3 km across the northern border to the neighbouring country, Senegal. By a paved road and the ferry, Fathala is easy to reach.Within two hours you can go from Banjul to Fathala (provided that the ferry works).

Fathala is a large wild animal reserve of about 2.000 hectares with original and protected African wilderness. Enjoy the lions, giraffes, antelopes, giant mahogany trees, high savanna grass and wild bush while you drive around by jeep in search of rhinos, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and many other animal species.

In nature reserve Fathala you can walk with real lions. The presence of these majestic kings give you an unprecedented feeling of fear combined with deep admiration and emotion. Guaranteed, this is an unforgettable experience that you really should do during your Gambia vacation. Your walk with the lions at the African savannah is accompanied by specialised rangers of Fathala.

You can do this safari in one day, provided you leave early and that the ferries are working. It stays Africa: always a surprise! It is also possible to stay overnight in the park. Discuss the possibilities with your guide from GambiaSafari.

Because you are heading to neighbouring Senegal you should not forget to bring your passport and vaccination booklet. The border formalities here are still a daily ritual that we already have forgotten in the EU.
